Communication hardware and device wiring to connect MoTeC products with a Serial RS232 port to the PC.

PC Connection

MoTeC provides solutions to connect the device to the PC's serial port or USB port. The simplest connection method is via the PC's serial port, however many modern computers do not have a serial port, in this case use the USB connection method.

Connecting to the PC's USB Port

Create a serial port, using a USB to RS232 serial adapter. Then follow the connection method for a PC with a serial port.

Device Wiring

• For PLM, Radio telemetry and GSM telemetry, the serial cable connects directly to the mating connector on the device. 

• For the M4 with serial number 3000 and greater, M2R and MLS ECUs, a mating connector must be wired to the ECU connector to provide a connection point for the serial cable.
