Actually I misspoke earlier saying... "There are 2 ways (for noise)":
Magnetic (cured with twisted pairs)
Electrical (cured with a condenser, and I am thinking of the 12V to the ECU being jerked up and down or the ground)
There is also the 3rd noise transmission method, which is often referred to as electro-magnetic or RF.
The higher frequency noise is transmitted through the air and where the shielded wires come into play.
I never knew that resistive wires were supposed to be used.
