The MoTeC Professional Lambda Meter is capable of operating with both the NTK UEGO and the Bosch LSU-4 5 wire wide band sensors. Of the two, the NTK is the more accurate. It is a true laboratory grade sensor. Its accuracy has been found to be about 1.5% better than that of the Bosch LSU. The NTK is the benchmark against which the LSU is measured. The advantage of the LSU sensor is its price compared to the NTK. If you are doing very precise and accurate laboratory type testing, the NTK is the sensor for you. Both sensors have a life expectancy of 500 hours on unleaded fuels and that number is diminished to 50 hours or less using leaded fuels. The PLM can read either sensor however the sensors require different wiring harnesses and as such the LSU harness will not work the the NTK and vice versa. The harness can be purchased later if you wish to use the other type sensor. MoTeC will honor the warranty on the PLM only if the sensors used with the PLM were sold by MoTeC. We do not warranty the sensors.
