PDM Installation
This seminar is designed to help participants understand the installation, configuration and operation of MoTeC's PDM Power distribution systems.
To complement the presentations with practical training, attendees are encouraged to bring along their own laptops in order to follow along throughout the evening and gain hands-on experience of using the software.
Who should attend?
This introductory seminar is aimed at those who have recently purchased a MoTeC Power Distribution Module and those who are considering doing so. No prior experience with similar devices is necessary but basic wiring knowledge would be an advantage.
What will be taught?
- Benefits of installing a MoTeC PDM
- Loom requirements - existing and new
- Reconfiguring factory switches
- Minimising wiring
- PDM mounting and heat sinking
- Installing multiple PDMs
- CAN setup for connecting other devices, including Dash and ECU
- Using PDM channels in a Dash for alarms, display and logging
- Configuring conditional statements for outputs
- Setup: inputs, outputs, current rating, levels, times
- Setting up high current output devices/pairing outputs
- Battery isolation with a PDM in race cars
- Complex conditional setup
- Road usage, e.g. indicators, hazards, interior fan, thermo fans
- Functions: security, automation, time saving etc.
- New features planned (free software upgrade)
